UK: European holiday rental group Awaze has confirmed the appointment of Matthew Price as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Price had been serving as Interim CEO since January, following the departure of Henrik Kjellberg. He previously held the role of Group Chief Financial Officer at Awaze.
With a portfolio of over 90,000 properties across 36 countries, Awaze is one of Europe’s largest managed vacation rental companies and owns major UK brands including Hoseasons and cottages.com.
Before joining Awaze, Price held CFO roles at listed firms Global Fashion Group SA and MoneySuperMarket.com plc. His background includes senior finance and general management positions at companies such as Costa Coffee, Sodexo and Sainsbury’s.
Platinum Equity, which owns Awaze, welcomed the appointment. In a joint statement, managing directors Daniel Madden and Malik Vorderwuelbecke said: “We are delighted to appoint Matthew to this role on a permanent basis. We have seen the impact he is already having and look forward to partnering with him on the next phase of the company’s growth.”
Sharla Singh will continue to lead Awaze’s finance team on an interim basis while the company searches for a permanent CFO.
