Under Canvas debuts 12th camp in Washington

US: Under Canvas, the outdoor hospitality company, announced the grand opening of its first Pacific Northwest camp in Washington state, called Under Canvas Columbia River Gorge.

Under Canvas Columbia River Gorge is Under Canvas’s 12th camp, located on a 120-acre area in the White Salmon River Valley. 

Each booking takes place in a safari-inspired canvas tent, which features a private deck, king-size bed, linens, bedside lantern, USB charging pack, gas fireplace and en suite bathrooms. 

The camp is located 15 miles from White Salmon, Washington, and is a one-hour drive from Portland, Oregon. 

Matt Gaghen, chief executive officer of Under Canvas, said: “As our first Pacific Northwest location, Under Canvas Columbia River Gorge represents an exciting milestone for the brand. While it reflects our ongoing commitment to creating immersive outdoor experiences, this location is truly one-of-a-kind, most notably providing guests spectacular views of Mount Hood and the stunning valley floor. It offers a unique opportunity to connect guests with the stunning beauty of the Columbia River Gorge—where comfort meets adventure, and endless outdoor recreation is uniquely paired with the region’s renowned wine and culinary offerings.” 

Under Canvas Columbia River Gorge’s onsite activities include live acoustic music, yoga, kids’ activities and nightly s’mores. On-site team members are also available to discuss activities outside of the camp. 

The camp’s dining program provides al fresco and indoor cafe-style food options. Grab-and-go lunches and snacks are also available for guests. 

The camp is now open until 27 October, 2025. Rates start at $229 per night. 

Under Canvas’s newest location comes nearly two months after the company launched a new portfolio under the brand Outdoor Collection.
