As well as more unannounced updates, Rest plans to unveil a new sensor soon that detects both noise and smoke. In a press release, the company said that the sensor was “currently in development for short-term rental customers”.
In addition, Rest has appointed Michael Linton as its new chief revenue officer [CRO] and general counsel.
Linton, who recently departed his role as head of global gaming and general counsel at Cendyn, will support Rest in its bid to enforce no-smoking policies through its technology and open up new revenue streams, while enhancing the overall guest experience and protecting hotel assets.
Since its founding in 2015, Rest [formerly NoiseAware] has monitored stays on behalf of property managers, owners and hosts across the globe, protecting their properties and profits so they can focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences. It also partners with communities nationwide to incentivise owners and managers to protect their neighbourhoods from noise-related disturbances, while advocating for “fair and balanced” regulation.
