Germany / Croatia: Berlin-based vacation home co-ownership platform MYNE Homes has announced its expansion into Croatia.
The company is now offering shares in holiday properties in Croatia. The portfolio currently comprises five new-build villas and penthouses on the Istrian Peninsula and in Dalmatia.
Nikolaus Thomale, founder and CEO of MYNE, said: “Over the past 12 months, we have received an increasing number of enquiries from interested parties and customers looking for holiday properties in Croatia. Croatia is a very popular holiday destination for German and Austrian consumers in particular, with excellent infrastructure and good connections by car or plane.
“It was only logical for us to expand our portfolio to include this country,” he added.
Croatia is not only becoming increasingly popular for tourists but more and more Europeans are buying vacation homes, including on the Dalmatian coast.
As a result of the growing demand, prices have risen recently. Higher prices in turn have made technology-driven models like co-ownership more attractive, especially to those who only want to use their vacation homes at a fraction of the year.
MYNE currently offers five holiday properties, including in Istria [Opatija, Kucki] and Dalmatia [Hvar, Ciovo]. Prices start from €99,000 per 1/8 share of the property.
Thomale continued: “In view of the continuing high demand and the existing economic conditions with high interest rates, inflation and significantly increased property maintenance costs, we are making it possible for customers to buy a holiday property in a popular holiday region with financial efficiency.”
After expanding into the Swedish market in January, MYNE now offers holiday homes in seven European countries: Germany; Austria; Italy; Spain; France; Sweden; and Croatia. The company’s total portfolio now comprises around 40 properties.
Founded in 2021, the co-ownership platform presents the opportunity to purchase shares in individual holiday property in popular holiday destinations, starting from an equity investment of €50,000.
Via the digital platform, co-owners can have the properties managed on an ongoing basis for a monthly fee – from furnishing, to operation and maintenance. A smart scheduling system is designed to ensure that all co-owners can use their property according to their personal preferences.
