US: Camping platform Hipcamp has launched a major expansion, doubling its site listings in a bid to streamline the booking process for campers and drive new business to campground operators across the United States.
The app, which already claims to be the world’s top destination for finding and booking campsites, now hosts over 500,000 listings.
Hipcamp says the latest upgrade aims to addresses the challenge of navigating a patchwork of disconnected websites by consolidating the entire outdoor booking experience in one app.
The expansion also opens access to Hipcamp’s 7 million-strong user base so operators can benefit from greater visibility, booking tools, and analytics built into the platform.
Alyssa Ravasio, CEO and founder of Hipcamp said: “For too long, campers have faced a maze of disconnected websites just to plan a simple weekend outdoors. By bringing more camping experiences together, we’re making it easier for people to get outside while supporting the campgrounds, RV parks, and landowners who are the backbone of the outdoor economy.”
“There are so many incredible places to camp in America, but too many people—especially first-time campers—don’t know where to look. This is about making the outdoors more accessible and making sure the next generation grows up with real, meaningful outdoor experiences,” she added.
