US: All-in-one property management platform Guesty has announced the appointment of Kate Cox as its new chief marketing officer [CMO].

Cox brings experience in driving strong growth for recurring revenue businesses in B2B and B2C sectors, with a track record in companies delivering rapid, high-value growth.

The appointment follows Guesty’s $130 million Series F funding round in April, which was led by global investment firm KKR with participation from Inovia Capital, Apax Funds, Sixth Street Partners and BTD & MSD Partners. As well as aiding its accelerating growth strategy, the round was closed in preparation for an initial public offering [IPO] in the near future.

As part of Guesty’s next phase of global growth, the company also acquired vacation rental channel management distribution platform Rentals United in May – its fifth purchase in the last two years.

Having led teams and created value through key marketing initiatives, Cox was previously part of the senior leadership team driving the European domain registration and web hosting provider HEG’s $1.8 billion exit to GoDaddy in 2017. There, she worked across portfolio brand alignment, improving customer analytics for new product launches and scaling new customer acquisition profitably.

In addition, she was CMO at the private equity-backed UK and US virtual receptionist provider, Moneypenny. Most recently, she helped to steer Swedish AI startup BrightBid to a Nasdaq listing just three years after it launched.

Amiad Soto, co-founder and CEO of Guesty, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Kate to the Guesty team. Her understanding of brand-building, extensive background in growing recurring revenue models, and her success in scaling high-growth businesses will be instrumental in furthering Guesty’s global leadership.

“Kate’s insights and experience will help propel our efforts in developing a robust marketing strategy that continues to push the industry and our customers forward while staying true to our mission of providing best-in-class solutions for the short-term rental industry,” he added.

Cox said: “I am excited to join such a dynamic and forward-thinking team. It is rare to find such an innovative company with such an exceptional leadership team in place and I look forward to contributing to the company’s growth and helping shape the Guesty story as a market leader in the evolving landscape of property management technology.”

Vered Raviv Schwarz, president and COO of Guesty, will be speaking at the upcoming STRz Summit in London on Tuesday 5 November, when she will join a panel to discuss ‘Navigating the investment landscape’. Book your STRz Summit tickets now at this link.
