Australia: Charter and brokerage company Ahoy Club has announced the acquisition of the yacht booking service company Floatspace.
Floatspace allows customers to select their desired yacht, date, time, and any additional requirements. The technology automatically updates the yacht’s calendar and generates charter contracts for all parties involved.
The acquisition means that Ahoy Club can service the entire charter market, from catamarans to megayachts, digitally.
Hugh Treseder, founder and CEO of Floatspace, said: “The two businesses complement one another very well. Although having come at the market from opposite ends, both delivered excellent traction and growth, meaning combining the two would result in a force to be reckoned with.”
Ellie Malouf, CEO of Ahoy Club, said: “Clients today are empowered with extensive knowledge, conducting their own thorough research. For charters, they often know what they want, when they want it, and seek the convenience of booking that instantly. Clients now expect similar experiences in the yachting industry as they do with other premium services.”
In July 2023, Ahoy Club announced that it had acquired a stake in the brokerage firm Ray White Marine. The acquisition allowed Ahoy Club to focus on the sale of superyachts.
Founded in 2018, Ahoy Club is headquartered in Sydney with global offices in France, Monaco, and Florida.
