Netherlands: France-based hotel group Accor has signed a development agreement for a 240-key Mövenpick resort in Petten, set to become the brand’s first resort in the Netherlands.
Scheduled to open in 2028, Mövenpick Resort & Spa Pettemer Duynen will have 240 rooms, a spa and wellness centre, swimming pools, meeting facilities for up to 500 guests, and several dining outlets.
The resort is part of a 50,000-square-metre development that will also include 13 apartments and 150 standalone villas operated by Landal, the Netherlands’ largest holiday park rental company.
It will be the first Mövenpick resort in the country, joining existing Mövenpick hotels in The Hague and Amsterdam. Accor operates 58 properties across 14 brands in the Netherlands.
The project is being developed in partnership with Pettemer Duynen, Het Nieuwe Strand Petten, Landal, and local authorities.
Located around 45 minutes from Amsterdam and 15 kilometres northwest of Alkmaar, Petten is a popular domestic and German tourist destination, with the nearby Energy and Health Campus attracting international visitors year-round.
Recent Mövenpick openings in Europe include Mövenpick Brussels Airport in Belgium and Mövenpick Resort Agios Nikolaos Sivota in Greece. Forthcoming projects include Mövenpick Hotel Bari in Italy and Mövenpick Hotel Teuta Kotor Bay in Montenegro.
