Hospitable rolls out fully automated security-deposit tool

US: Property management platform Hospitable has launched a new automated security-deposit feature, combining deposit collection, ID verification, and chargeback protection into a single workflow.

Once activated, the system runs automatically after booking confirmation. Hosts set a deposit amount; Hospitable then collects, holds, and releases funds around check-out, while withholding check-in details until both deposit and ID verification are complete.

Guest ID checks are integrated into the deposit workflow, and the platform automates messaging throughout the process, including payment reminders and release confirmations. Claims can be submitted directly through the host inbox using a built-in form.

Most requests are typically resolved within 24 hours, according to the company, with funds disbursed directly to the host and backed by built-in chargeback protection.

Hospitable says the feature is available for a flat 2% fee per deposit, which includes collection, guest messaging, ID verification, and chargeback support.

Pierre-Camille Hamana, CEO and founder of Hospitable, said: “Security deposits have been treated as an afterthought for too long. Most tools make them difficult to manage or awkward to enforce, so they often get skipped, which leaves hosts exposed when something goes wrong. We’ve built them into the structure of the booking itself. There’s no extra system to manage, no steps to remember, and no need to chase guests.”
