Spain: Catalan campsite operator HolaCamp has announced that it has raised €10 million in fresh capital to acclerate its expansion in Spain and Portugal.
The round was led by Belgian proptech investment firm Amavi Capital, which has acquired a minority stake in the company, while the founding members retain overall control.
HolaCamp will use the funding to fuel its expansion and drive its technological development plans across Spain and Portugal.
Despite only being founded two years, the Barcelona-based operator has grown to manage 11 campsites since then and it expects to achieve a turnover of €30 million this year. HolaCamp plans to add at least five new campsites to its portfolio in Spain and Portugal next year, while keeping its eye on other potential European growth markets, and it also wants to ramp up hiring across its team.
Amavi Capital CEO Arne Allewaert wrote on LinkedIn: “The market opportunity in the outdoor hospitality sector is clearly irresistible, but what truly stands out is the execution capability and professionalism of the founding team: Alfonso Leprevost Crucelegui, Martin Becker, Héctor Fina, and Alejo de Olano.”
Héctor Fina, co-founder and executive director of HolaCamp, said: “With Amavi Capital’s investment, we are ready to accelerate our growth and continue driving technological innovation in the premium camping sector.”
