France: French outdoor accommodation and nature camping hospitality firm, Huttopia, is set to accelerate its growth path by closing a €13 million investment.
The new funding arrives from Crédit Agricole’s Crédit Agricole Régions Investissement [Carvest] and other investment structures belonging to Carvest, Sofipaca [a subsidiary of regional banks Alpes Provence and Provence Côte d’Azur], and Crédit Agricole Alpes Développement [C2AD], a subsidiary of the regional banks of Crédit Agricole des Savoie and Sud Rhône Alpes.
Established in 1999, Huttopia currently manages more than 130 sites in nine countries across its Huttopia, CityKamp and OnlyCamp brands. The company is seeking to promote sustainable tourism that respects the environment and enhance local territories.
Philippe and Céline Bossanne, co-founders of Huttopia, told Camping Business: “We are very happy to consolidate our collaboration with Crédit Agricole, which remains the sole financial partner in Huttopia’s capital.”
Following the investment, the Bossanne family and their 67 employee-shareholders will retain control of 80 per cent of Huttopia’s capital.
The funding will now be allocated to driving both domestic and international growth for Huttopia.
Mikael Brelot, a representative of Crédit Agricole, said: “We are thrilled to support Huttopia in its growth. Our investment will further develop this integrated ecotourism model, enhancing territories and promoting sustainable tourism.”
